Air Compliance Supervisor

Hiring Range: $57,735 - $96,640

Full Time or Part Time: FULL TIME

This position primarily manages the Air Compliance Programs and monitors activities and accomplish administrative functions in such a manner that policies, procedures and regulations of the Department are executed throughout the Tidewater Region.

RESPONSIBILITIES

This position is primarily responsible for managing the Air Compliance activities of the Region, overseeing scheduling, conducting and documentation of all Air Pollution source inspections required to ensure achievement of the performance partnership Grant commitments. This position is also responsible for managing the Regional Ambient Air Monitoring program - assigning resources, approving siting criteria, and providing support service to ensure compliance with the agency and EPA monitoring standards. 

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Thorough knowledge of state and federal air pollution regulations, understanding of air pollution control technologies, familiarity with DEQ compliance assurance procedures, including inspections, compliance evaluations, stack testing, and reporting
  • General engineering, physical sciences or environmental sciences knowledge, personnel management ability, administrative ability, public speaking/briefing proficiency.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of DEQ Leadership and Management Competencies - demonstrates self-awareness, develops others, thinks strategically, and cultivates work relationships; and understands the business, achieves results, communicates proficiently, and applies technical skills.

Combination of education and/or training with major course work in engineering and/or physical science or a combination of work experience and education demonstrating an equivalent technical background.
