Job Summary

The San Diego County Office of Education is recruiting for a School Social Worker for North County Academy for the North County Consortium for Special Education (NCCSE) department of the Student Service and Programs division. Under general supervision from assigned administrator, plans, coordinates, organizes, and manages the implementation of social-emotional learning and mental health programs aligned with the San Diego County Office mission, goals, and objectives for student learning. 

ABOUT NORTH COUNTY ACADEMY North County Academy, located in Carlsbad, is designed to meet the academic and therapeutic needs of students with mental health concerns. Serving students with Individual Education Programs from kindergarten through 12th grade, our prevailing goal is to help them acquire the skills needed to re-integrate into a more comprehensive and less restrictive setting.

Requirements / Qualifications

This position requires a combination of education and experience equivalent to a master’s degree from an accredited college/university and successful experience that demonstrate ability to perform essential functions of the position.

Certificates, Licenses, Credentials:

• California Clear Pupil Personnel Services Credential in School Social Work
• Licensure as a Clinical Social Worker in the State of California is preferred.
• CPR and First Aid certification are highly desirable.

This position is also eligible for Article XV: Salary, Section 2.C.5.B of the negotiated agreement between SDCOE and SDCAE.
