After-School Instructor STEAM

The short version of this description is:

  • Pay: $60/class, plus 50 cents per extra mile after 20 miles in a round trip [Each class is around 1:10-1:30 hours between the teaching time, preparation, and dismissal].
  • Location: CPS - Stock School (7507 W. Birchwood Ave., Chicago, IL 60631).
  • Dates: October 16th to December 11th, 2025.
  • Grade: PreK-2nd.
  • Schedule: every Thursday from 3:00 PM - 4:00 PM (our instructors get to the classroom 15 minutes before to prepare everything).
  • About Nexplore (www.nexploreusa.com): is an after-school program. You will be teaching our Little Pilots program to school-age children. Curriculum and materials are provided.
  • Inmediate availability!

Qualifications:

  • Part-time position
  • 2+ years teaching/instructing (preferred)
  • Passion for education and fostering the joy of learning in children
  • Experience working with children
  • Educational (development or training) experience
  • Teaching degree or certificate is a PLUS!
  • Must commit to the full proposed schedule
  • Great communication and presentation skills

Responsibilities

  • Create engaging and educational after-school activities for children
  • Implement lesson plans that cater to different learning styles and abilities.
  • Manage classroom behavior and ensure a safe environment for all students.
  • Provide individualized support to students who require extra assistance.
  • Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school administration.
  • Utilize first aid skills when necessary to ensure the well-being of students.

Requirements

  • Reliable transportation
  • Willing to complete a background check and fingerprints
  • Willing to complete mandatory training
