Social Media and Outreach Intern
Overview: Janya and Kiran James Productions are seeking a Social Media & Outreach Intern to support the communications and community engagement efforts for our upcoming Dance Production. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented and motivated individual with an interest in social impact, digital media, and marketing campaign strategy.
Commitment: ~2–3 hours per week | ~12 months (year-long internship)
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain an outreach database of relevant organizations (domestic violence advocacy, South Asian community groups, mental health organizations, presenting organizations, etc.)
- Create and manage a content calendar
- Schedule posts across Instagram and Facebook via Meta Business Suite; YouTube may be added if feasible
- Contribute ideas to the development and impact of the project
- Conduct targeted research to support outreach and campaign expansion
- Assist in campaign planning and strategy development
- Contribute ideas and initiative to strengthen campaigns — not just executing tasks, but actively helping shape marketing and outreach strategies for real impact
Qualifications:
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Familiarity with social media scheduling and content planning tools
- Interest in advocacy, communications, or nonprofit work
- Ability to work independently and meet deadlines
- Must be authorized to work in the United States
