Director Of Worship Ministry

Director of Worship Ministry

Chapel Hill Church | Portage, MI
Part-time | Approximately 25 hours/week
Salary: $30,000/year

About Chapel Hill

Chapel Hill Church is a growing progressive United Methodist congregation in Portage, Michigan, with a vibrant worship life, a strong sense of momentum, and a deep commitment to welcome, justice, spiritual formation, and community.

We are a church where contemporary worship, thoughtful theology, and expansive belonging can live together. Our congregation includes many young families, longtime members, new seekers, and people who are rediscovering church after time away. We are looking for a worship leader who can help us continue building music ministry that is spiritually rich, musically excellent, emotionally honest, and deeply participatory.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone who loves contemporary worship and wants to help shape a growing ministry in a church that is healthy, radically inclusive, mission-driven, and open to what comes next.

Position Overview

The Director of Worship Ministry provides leadership for the music ministries of Chapel Hill Church by planning, coordinating, and leading music in worship. This person will serve as the primary worship leader for our 11:00 a.m. Contemporary Worship service and will help develop the people, systems, and musical culture that support meaningful congregational worship across the life of the church.

The right candidate will be a self-starter: organized, collaborative, musically gifted, spiritually grounded, and able to move ideas into action. They will bring strong instincts for contemporary worship while also appreciating the breadth of musical expression within a United Methodist congregation.

This role is ideal for someone who has been shaped by contemporary worship environments and is ready to lead in a church that values theological depth, inclusion, creativity, and authenticity.
