Electrical Engineer Internship

Electrical Engineer Internship opportunity for the Summer of 2020 is available on the Indianapolis Power & Light Company (IPL) Transmission Planning Engineering team.

QUALIFICATIONS:
The successful candidate should be a student pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering at an ABET accredited college or university, with preference given to those in a Power course of study. Students with related majors also will be considered. An academic status of rising Junior by summer of 2020 or higher is preferred. Additional consideration will be given to candidates who have a strong academic background, organized work habits, exceptional attention to detail, and good presentation skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs (Excel, Power Point and Word) is also preferred. 

PRIMARY DUTIES:
Intern may be assigned projects and/or tasks associated with the following efforts:
Power flow analysis, stability studies, voltage studies, technical analysis of disturbances, implementation of regulatory reliability standards, interconnection studies for generation and transmission requests.

ACADEMIC CREDIT:
If academic credit for the work experience is desired, it is the intern’s responsibility to provide appropriate paperwork, interviews and evaluations to the supervisor in a timely manner for completion and verification.
