The Warehouse Specialist will be responsible for performing duties and responsibilities related to general building and warehouse processes to support daily Distribution Operations Center (DOC) operations as well as manage inventory requirements for all contracts, LHI facilities and fixed and embedded clinic locations. Individuals in this role will also ensure all inventory is properly stored, handled and maintained to ensure the highest quality products to our customers.

Primary Responsibilities:






  • Implement and/or complete preventative maintenance and calibration programs according to manufacturer guidelines and internal timelines
  • Ensure relevant documentation is maintained to prepare for potential audits or refunds
  • Record and communicate to management regarding needed supplies and materials
  • Track inventory by completing manual written logs and/or update relevant IT systems
  • Write and/or assist in creation of purchase order needed to secure resources and services from suppliers
  • Demonstrate knowledge of supplier contracts
  • Keep management informed of potential problems or issues that need to be resolved
  • Identify and communicate opportunities to improve operational efficiencies, eliminate waste, or contain costs
  • Maintain costs and budgets with in established financial guidelines
  • Gather information from relevant stakeholders in order to inform procurement decisions
  • Ensure relevant invoices form external vendors are checked against orders/deliveries and necessary approvals received and are processed for payment
  • Ensure adequate resources and materials are available
  • Provision resources according to internal needs and policies
  • Assist with creating and updating DOC educational material to include but not limited to SOP’s, work instructions, policies, process flows, etc. and maintaining and updating LHI DMS database
  • Maintain high production volume and quality setting work standards to meet and exceed daily work force metrics

Required Qualifications:
      
  • High school Diploma or GED
  • 6 months experience and skill level with inventory management processes and procedures
  • 6 month experience computer skills including Microsoft Office programs and the ability to work independently out of an internal database in assigned work area
  • Ability to work while standing for extended periods of time up to 10 hours a day
  • Capable of lifting up to 35lbs frequently (34-66% of the time)
  • Physical ability to bend, reach, twist, package and transport (shift/roll/push/pull) multi-sized packages that range from 10 – 35lbs frequently and 50+lbs occasionally to rarely with assistance.
  • Capable of driving company vehicles to assist with packages and mail deliveries.
  • Valid driver’s license
  •  
Preferred Qualifications:
 
  • Supply Chain Management, Logistics, Business or other related field
  • Minimum 1 year experience in a warehouse/distribution environment working with inventory management processes and shipping and receiving carriers.
  • Forklift certification
  • Knowledge of safety standards in a warehouse environment.
  • OSHA Safety certification
  • Previous leadership experience
  • Experience with Government contracting or military environment
  • Knowledge of military medical readiness requirements
  • National Career Readiness Certificate
 

Soft Skills:
  • Experience with operation of basic warehouse tools--i.e. dollies, pallet jacks, forklift, etc
  • Flexibility in daily duties with the ability to prioritize and organize tasks to meet deadlines
  • Must be dependable with the ability to perform responsibilities and solve routine problems with minimal or zero supervision
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization
  • Must be able to work with others as part of a team
  • Ability to apply strong problem solving, organizational, time management and team building skills to day to day activities
  • Effectively manage stress and work in a fast pace environment while meeting tight deadlines
  • Adaptive to changing business requirements while maintaining productivity and a positive work environment
