Career Consulting Interns-Fall 2021

Career Consulting Interns (CCIs) are dynamic CWRU student paraprofessionals who guide students on career development topics. Applications for Fall 2021 positions are currently being accepted and will be reviewed on a rolling basis. Each Career Consulting Intern is paired with a Career Interest Area coordinator to support communications of industry-specific employer activities, recruitment and jobs/internships. We are looking for student applicants interested in supporting the following three career interest areas:
 
Arts & Culture | Healthcare | Life & Physical Sciences
 
Career Consulting Intern positions are extremely flexible, as CCIs work (on average) 5-8 hours/week. On occasion, a CCI may work up to 12 hours/week during peak employer recruitment time periods (typically, September, October, January, and February around career fairs). CCIs also serve as ambassadors for Post-Graduate Planning and Experiential Education.

Key job activities:
-Facilitate Career Lab sessions, offering resume reviews and information and guidance about career topics/resources.
-Review/approve new employers and position postings in Handshake within CWRU guidelines, ensuring availability of high quality positions for CWRU students.
-Provide student guidance with Handshake career management system, Career Connect (Alumni Career Network-Wisr), and other resources at the My Career portal.
-Fulfill presentation requests from student clubs and organizations on career-related topics.
-Coordinate volunteers for career fairs 
 
REQUIREMENTS:
·  Be minimum of sophomore class standing in Fall 2021. (Masters students may apply.) Ideally, we’re looking for student workers willing to commit for the full academic year.
·  Willingness and availability to work 4-8 hours weekly.
·  Commitment to participate in all training sessions, which may include 2 days in August prior to the start of fall classes and weekly continuing education meetings during the academic year.
·  Strong organizational and time management skills.
·  Ability to work on a team and be a dedicated team player.
·  Experience or desire to gain experience working with students from diverse backgrounds
·  Prior participation in experiential learning opportunities, such as internships/practicum/co-op, research, volunteering, and/or study abroad, is a plus for consideration.
