DESCRIPTION/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Planned Parenthood of Orange and San Bernardino Counties has a full-time opportunity for a Primary Care Physician in Upland, CA to provide quality patient care including exams, treatment, education and counseling for patients in accordance with agency protocols.  To assist the medical director in overseeing high quality care to our patients throughout the affiliate.

Responsibilities
Essential Functions: Essential functions encompass the required tasks, duties and responsibilities performed as part of the job and the reason the job exists.
• Adhere to agency’s policies, procedures and protocols. This may include successfully completing agency, regional and/or state certification requirements.
• Provide primary care services within the scope of practice of Melody Women’s Health.
• Adhere to affiliate goals and policies on professionalism, wait time in-clinic and on the system for addressing client complaints.
• Participate in health center efforts to achieve established goals for productivity
• Participate in health center/affiliate efforts to achieve established revenue cycle goals.
• Provide clinical services as outlined in the PPOSBC Medical Standards and Guidelines, Standardized Procedures, and Policies and Procedures, and any other guidelines recommended by the affiliate, including abortion services
• Provide medical consultation to clinicians regarding the clinical management of specific patients.
• Provide telephone consultation to clinicians on evenings and weekends.
• Document patient data accurately and completely in the medical record.
• Evaluate and treat medical problems, ensuring follow-up and appropriate referrals as necessary.
• Participate in a team approach to patient care and deliver care in a professional, confidential and expeditious manner.
• Manage emergency situations as they arise in the health center, and consult with Medical Director as necessary.
• Orient new clinicians or physicians as requested.
• Participate in a regularly scheduled peer review process, as required.
• Attend medical meetings, as required.
• Meet productivity goals of the center.
• Meet patient satisfaction goals of the center.
• Assist with outreach to local hospitals and health systems as needed.

Non-Essential Functions:
• Supports the Medical Director in the content of training and clinical evaluation of all clinical staff.
• Assists the Medical Director in the development of PPOSBC medical policies and protocols.
• Assist the Medical Director in overseeing the pharmaceutical, laboratory and mid-level supervision processes of the affiliate.
• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the Medical Director.

• Availability to work flexible hours and locations within PPOSBC as required.
• DEA license required.
• This position requires an employee to have a valid CA driver’s license, a reliable means of transportation, and to carry current auto insurance in compliance with the minimum requirements of the California Vehicle Code.  

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
• Current California Medical License.
• Current Board Certification in Family Medicine or Internal Medicine preferred.
• Post Residency Training and/or Experience in Reproductive Health.
• Current BLS or ACLS certification.
