Human Resources Administrator

We are looking for a Human Resources Administrator. The position will be responsible for many administrative and clerical duties, the HR Administrator oversees several functions for the HR Department and assists the HR Manager and Generalist so that the team can effectively manage the overall HR presence and objectives for the Angola Plant.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Contribute to the achievement of departmental and plant goals through the implementation and administration of effective labor- and employee-relations and employee-benefits programs, including assuring excellent follow-up with employees, assist with planning and orchestrating special employee ER events, administering all phases of the hourly vacation benefit and providing timely communication to affected employees, overseeing the precise and timely administration of the weekly short-term disability (S&A) claims, knowing and understanding the provisions of the Collective Bargaining Agreement, and addressing vending issues.
  • Accurate preparation of weekly hourly payroll
  • Perform the vital clerical duties of answering incoming phone calls, paging salaried and hourly personnel, transferring phone calls, greeting guests, and handling incoming and outgoing mail, including certified mail, managing files as necessary, and updating the communication board.
  • Learn the HRIS system (SAP) for all hourly employees – this includes employee data entry on a regular basis.
  • Assist the HR Manager and HR Generalist in developing, upholding, and enforcing workplace policies, rules, and procedures in accordance with the Company’s strategies and legal requirements
  • Oversee the daily administration of the hourly time & attendance in SAP and weekly administration of hourly payroll. Assure that the annual hourly vacation payout is accurate and submitted on time.
  • Oversee the daily administration of the hourly attendance records, prepare all disciplinary actions for violations of the Attendance Policy, assure that the Perfect Attendance Bonus program is properly and accurately administered, generate the monthly absenteeism and turnover report to the HR Manager, and communicate closely with MetLife for all FMLA cases
  • Assist with the management of the plant’s Training System, the Annual Training Plan, and any training grants to ensure that employees are adequately trained to perform their assigned duties safely and efficiently and that all personnel understand and are aware of all Company and plant policies and regulations and safety-related requirements
  • Assist the HR Manager in ensuring functional compliance with all federal, state, and local statutory requirements including EEO, NLRB, OFCCP, etc., and the development and maintenance of an effective Affirmative Action Program (AAP) and all supporting data compliant with federal laws and the scrutiny of OFCCP
  • Other MISC projects or duties as assigned.
Required Experience
EDUCATION: Bachelors Degree with 1-3 years experience in HR in a manufacturing environment or 3-5 years experience as an HR generalist or an Associates Degree with 3-5 years of related HR experience  
 
 
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: 
  • SAP experience preferred not required
  • Ability to organize written and oral communications and to effectively deliver clear presentations
  • Skill in analyzing issues from business, technical, customer, and organizational perspectives
  • Ability to forge strong relationships, to establish rapport, and to relate to others with diverse backgrounds in a manner fostering respect and dignity
  • Skill to translate broad strategies into specific objectives and action plans and then align the HR Department and the organization to support strategic priorities
  • Ability to gain support and commitment from others, to promote ideas and proposals persuasively and energetically, and to determine the needs and interests of others
  • Ability to accurately assess strengths and development needs of employees, to provide timely and specific feedback and helpful coaching/counseling, and to provide challenging assignments and opportunities to subordinates for development purposes
  • Excellent communications, interpersonal, follow-up, and team-building skills
  • Working knowledge of the OSHA regulations, EEOC reporting requirements, NLRA law, and Worker’s Compensation state statute
